Grupo Tafer Hotels & Resorts, which has a presence in sun and beach tourist areas including as Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, and Cancun, has a 240-million-dollar investment plan for 2021 and plans to add 4,000 rooms to its portfolio over the next five years.
As part of the strategy, the Mexican corporation plans to portray its Hotel Garza Blanca Cancun as the greatest option for lodging in the popular destination, as it currently tops the Tripadvisor search list.
Garza Blanca Cancun
The Garza Blanca Cancun Hotel opened in December 2019 with 162 rooms and the Blanca Blue restaurant, and the second phase, ready for October, will include 451 rooms, five restaurants, a spa, a rooftop pool, a gym, an event room, a kids club, and other amenities.
“People have overcome their fear of the COVID-19 disease, and we’re seeing an impressive demand in the destination, which keeps us optimistic about promoting the company and Cancun in a simultaneous and responsible way,” said Carlos González, general manager of the Hotel Garza Blanca.
In an interview with TravelPulse Mexico, the representative mentioned the Garza Blanca Cancun Hotel’s all-inclusive feature, which maintains the five-diamond category by merging cutting-edge technology, luxury, comfort, and gourmet experiences, all of which attract the romance tourism segment.
With the opening of the Garza Blanca Cancun Hotel, Grupo Tafer Hotels & Resorts will end the year with a total of four thousand rooms and the satisfaction of having created 1,600 direct jobs.
Furthermore, by the end of the year, the business expects to see a 50% occupancy rate among honeymooners, wedding guests, and those looking to take advantage of the greatest days of sun and beach during the winter.
Protective actions to face the pandemic
Tafer Hotels & Resorts Group properties have active biosafety protocols, and if a guest tests positive for COVID-19, they will have the option of recuperating by remaining isolated in a room at no cost for a maximum of 14 days, though food will be at their own expense. Consumptions in the hotel are not mandatory in this instance, and the staff can assist clients in bringing their goods.
This service was launched as part of a solidarity plan to instill greater trust among visitors, mostly from the international market, because if they are carriers of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, they will be unable to return to their country of origin until the authorities allows them to.
In this regard, González emphasized the existence of an exclusive vaccination module for the tourism industry, which, along with the application of the first dose in the 30 to 39-year-old age bracket, allows many travelers arrive in Cancun inoculated, reducing the danger of infection.
Otto Pareto, resident manager of the Garza Blanca Cancun Hotel, recalled that the timely management of the crisis derived from COVID-19 made it possible to establish the health care of its guests and collaborators as a priority to avoid total closure, as occurred with several competing properties during the first months of the pandemic, although he regretted that despite preventive measures, the North American market has shrunk as a result of the United States government’s health notice advising its citizens to avoid travel to Mexican territory.
Regarding the problems of keeping a hotel open during a pandemic, he was certain that a positive shift in travel behavior would occur soon, and he predicted occupancy to exceed 50% from September to December next year, and 70% from January to March 2022.
