Puerto Juárez might become first Magical Neighborhood in Cancun

While the transformation of Puerto Juárez continues, the Benito Juárez authorities are already analyzing the possibility of applying for inclusion in the Magic Neighborhoods program.

They are looking for the area to become a new tourist attraction for visitors arriving in Cancun, just like the Hotel Zone or the Foundations Zone, to name a few other places in the destination.

“We have already started the second phase, which is the renovation of the arches, and the road is ready. So, we are moving forward with the renovation and transformation of Puerto Juarez and we are going to look for a space of great coexistence, of rebuilding the social fabric,” said Mayor Ana Paty Peralta in an interview.

She said that they already have many plans for the area, which they will activate with different cultural and gastronomic events so that Puerto Juarez will be a new tourist attraction for the city. They are confident that the work will be completed this year.

They would even like it to be considered a “Magic Neighborhood”, as envisaged in the program of the Federal Ministry of Tourism (Sectur).

We will present the project as the first “Barrio Mágico” of the city,” said Ana Paty Peralta.
