Los Cabos International Film Festival unveils new image
The 10th edition will be on in November
The Los Cabos International Film Festival is celebrating its tenth year this year. As part of the activities, there was a call for young designers, graphic and visual artists from all over Mexico. The challenge was to come up with a graphic approach that would give #LosCabos10 a a unique and inimitable face.
Each presentation displayed exceptional talent. After much debate, the piece by David Rodrigo Pineda Ortiz was picked as the winner, and will serve as the image for the 2021 edition of the International Festival, which will take place from November 10 to 17, this year.
A diver enjoys the cinema experience while comfortably seated on the seabed at the bottom of the Sea of Cortez, surrounded by the beautiful landscape of Los Cabos. He, for his part, is being watched through the lens of a digital camera. This image so alludes to a festival that can adapt to a reality in which the physical and virtual domains coexist and compliment each other to create an organic experience that the public can enjoy regardless of their geographic location.
This world cinema in Los Cabos – a term coined by designer David Pineda – is also aimed at new audiences, with Los Cabos Online providing access to our film programs from all around Mexico.
“This year’s image immerses us in a dreamlike portrayal in which we enjoy the international performance alongside the diver. With the light of the aqualung, we symbolize a movie projector that not only shows films, but also places us, the audience, as the festival’s genesis and essence “explained David Pineda, the artist behind the image # LosCabos10.
