According to Rodrigo Esponda, general director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust, while INEGI reports an excellent recovery in foreign tourists and foreign currency inflows to the country, Los Cabos is in a clear recovery in international travelers, primarily from the United States. Also, the reactivation of flights from Canada beginning in September makes the outlook for the winter appear quite positive.

According to the results of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography’s International Traveler Surveys (EVI) – International Tourism Survey (ETI) and Border Traveler Surveys (EVF), 4 million 886 thousand 357 visitors entered the country in June 2021. As per INEGI, the goal of these surveys is to offer statistics on the number of international tourists entering and exiting the country, as well as their expenditures.

Fiturca corroborated findings in surveys that correspond with what is happening in the tourist destination of Los Cabos, which has a positive outlook in terms of domestic and international tourism arrivals, primarily from the United States.

Esponda Cascajares emphasized that the good news for Los Cabos continues, with the reactivation of flights from Canada to Los Cabos beginning in September and October, as well as the consolidation of U.S. destinations, estimating close to 30 thousand new foreign tourists; additionally, the Canadian market stays longer, generates more revenue, and the tourist is more loyal to the destination.
