The meteorological phenomenon is currently at105 kilometers west of Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco, and 365 kilometers southwest of Cabo San Lucas. Although it has downgraded from hurricane to tropical storm, it is stil necessary to watch its trajectory.
It is moving northwest at 6 km/h, so there is a surveillance zone set up due to the tropical storm effects from Punta de Mita, Nayarit to San Blas, Nayarit, and from Cabo San Lucas to Las Barriles, BCS.
Sustained winds of 70 mph / 110 kph are expected for Baja California Sur; therefore, authorities are urging the population to be extremely cautious, particularly in maritime navigation, and to pay close attention to the recommendations issued by the National System of Civil Protection authorities.
Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo both feature emergency shelters in case it becomes necessary to evacuate both tourists and locals.
