According to Bernardo Cueto Riestra, the Secretary of State Tourism, Quintana Roo continues to be one of the most popular tourist destinations. He claims that the state is ready to receive 1.8 million visitors during the 2023 summer break.

According to Riestra, the state is ready for the arrival of 1.8 million tourists, who are predicted to bring in about $1.7 billion USD during the 2023 holiday season.

The number of visitors is up 4.4% from the previous year. According to Riestra, the state government’s efforts to work on the ground to ensure that more tourists reach state destinations are what have led to this increase in tourists.

According to him, Quintana Roo’s travel destinations all saw significant increases from the previous year, particularly Bacalar, where this season’s growth is expected to be close to 20%.

Also, the state’s archaeological zones saw an increase in visitors of 32.2 percent from January to April of this year compared to the same time last year.

As per data from the Quintana Roo Integral Port Administration (Apiqroo), 19 additional cruise ships will be arriving in Cozumel’s ports during the week of July 17–23.

State officials flew the flag in Cancun last week to herald the beginning of the 2023 summer vacation season.
