The number of lifeguards on Cancun’s public beaches has increased. Due to the high hopes for the summer vacation period, the increase was made. For the remainder of July, 150,000 tourists per week are anticipated, according to Cancun Mayor Ana Paty Peralta.

Cancun’s hotel occupancy rates remained above 75% during the first semester of 2023. The city has established itself as one of the top vacation destinations, so the summer high season, which starts in the third week of July, will be exceeded.

According to Peralta, efforts are being made to implement additional tourism segments, such as sports, education, health, culture, social activities, and romance, in addition to sun and beach travel, so that travelers come to the state all year long rather than just during certain seasons.

The first week of the month, from July 2 to July 8, saw an influx of 88,821 visitors and 4,060 air operations through the Cancun International Airport, according to municipal secretary of tourism Juan Pablo de Zulueta Razo.
