2024 Tourist Tianguis searching for a venue

Miguel Torruco Marqués, the Secretary of Tourism for the Government of Mexico, and Evelyn Salgado Pineda, the Governor of Guerrero, concurred that the Tianguis Turístico México 2024 needs to find a new headquarters due to the circumstances following Hurricane Otis.

It seems improbable that the city will have fully recovered by March 2024 given the state of the Port of Acapulco, so a new location for the tourism expo must be identified.

The Government of Mexico’s Ministry of Tourism will set up the framework and hold a meeting to define the new headquarters.

According to Torruco Marqués, the Mexico Tourism Tianguis is the industry’s premier gathering place. It brings together buyers from both domestic and foreign markets, as well as representatives from the 32 federal states, tour operators, travel agencies, hoteliers, airlines, and tourism service providers.

Torruco Marqués said that Mexico came up with the innovative Digital Tourist Tianguis, which had two successful editions, during the pandemic in 2020, when other nations canceled their major tourism fairs.
