300 million pesos investment in Cancun underground wiring project

The Federal Electricity Comission (CFE) has agreed to invest more than 300 million pesos for underground wiring along Colosio Boulevard in Cancun. The director of the CFE approved the investment following a meeting with Quintana Roo governor.

The new underground wiring by the CFE will extend 10 kilometers in each direction from the Kabah road distributor to the Cancun International Airport.

Underground wiring is more stable during storms like hurricanes because there is less chance of poles toppling over and damaging overhead wires.

As the boulevard is currently being rebuilt, the CFE will begin the work right away.
