The number of flights into Cancun has increased and new routes have been added by three airlines. American Airlines and Arajet will travel to the Mexican Caribbean more frequently in the winter of 2023.

In response to the rising demand for travel to Cancun, American Airlines will add an additional weekly direct flight from Austin, Texas, beginning on November 5, according to state secretary of tourism Bernardo Cueto Riestra.

American Airlines will increase its frequency from Charlotte, North Carolina, starting on December 5. They will provide five direct flights each week for the upcoming winter season.

The 2023 winter Cancun schedule now includes more flights from Texas, North Carolina, Tennessee, Ohio, and the Caribbean.

American Airlines will launch new direct routes from Cincinnati, Ohio, and Nashville, Tennessee, as of December 9, enhancing connectivity for visitors from these cities.

Additionally growing its presence in Cancun is Arajet. The airline will launch direct flights from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, beginning on October 4. Additionally, it will offer connecting flights to St. Marteen, Jamaica, Aruba, and Curacao, giving passengers more options to Cancun.

The new direct route between Quito and Cancun was launched by airline Avianca on June 15. Three times per week, the flight will run, giving Ecuadorians 4,000 sets per month to travel to Cancun.
