Costa Mujeres reinforces beach security for summer vacations

With the start of the summer vacations, police have increased their visibility along the beaches in Costa Mujeres. On the mainland of Isla Mujeres, police increased their physical presence on Thursday by conducting more foot patrols along Costa Mujeres beaches.

Together with staff from the National Guard and the Secretariat of the Navy of Mexico, members of the General Directorate of Public Safety conduct walking tours at various beach locations in Costa Mujeres as a crime prevention and deterrence measure, according to a statement from the Government of Isla Mujeres.

The increased foot surveillance will continue on a regular basis with the official start of the 2023 summer holiday season. Isla Mujeres is one of the state’s destinations anticipating a high hotel occupancy rate for the summer holidays.
