Day of the Dead brings 75% hotel occupancy to the Mexican Caribbean

Quintana Roo expects to have more than 75% of its hotels occupied over the Day of the Dead holiday weekend thanks to the more than 400,000 tourists who will visit the destination.
Bernardo Cueto Riestra, the secretary of tourism, noted that it is anticipated that during these dates 389 million dollars in economic revenue will be produced, with people coming to the many communities where activities associated with this festival will take place.
The hotel industry also stated that Quintana Roo, where Cancun and Riviera Maya are located, is likely to have occupancy levels above 75% of the 125 000 rooms in the Mexican Caribbean based on already registered reservations.
