Mexican Caribbean Hotel Associations report 76% occupancy for last week of April

468,523 tourists visited the Mexican Caribbean during the last week of April, according to local authorities, who also note an average hotel occupancy rate of 76.6%.
Riviera Maya had the highest hotel occupancy rate of any tourist destination, reaching an impressive 80%, according to a report by Hotel Associations and Sedetur. Riviera Maya was followed by Costa Mujeres with 78.9%, Cancun with 77.6%, Tulum with 73.6%, Isla Mujeres with 70.3%, Puerto Morelos with 69.7%, Cozumel with 61.5%, and Grand Costa Maya with 42%.
The airports of Chetumal, Cozumel and Cancun reported great number during the same period. Of the 2,017 arrivals, 1,269 were international and 748 domestic, while of the 1,996 departures, 748 were domestic and 1,248 international.
A majority of the tourists came from Mexico and the United States, followed by Canada, France, the United Kingdom, Colombia, Argentina, Germany, Spain and Brazil, among other countries.
With 57 commercial airlines and flights to and from the major hubs of North America, Latin America, and Europe, the Mexican Caribbean has excellent air connectivity.
Quintana Roo has connections with 23 Mexican cities, 40 American cities, 20 Canadian cities, 21 Central, Caribbean, and South American cities, and 20 European cities.
