More than two dozen direct routes scheduled from Canada to Cancun this winter

This winter, more than two dozen new flights from several Canadian cities are anticipated to connect with Cancun. For the forthcoming winter tourism season beginning in November, according to Jesús Almaguer Salazar, President of the Hotel Association of Cancun, Puerto Morelos, and Isla Mujeres, there will be around 27 city connections from Canada to Cancun.

Almaguer Salazar also mentioned in an interview that the Hotel Association anticipates occupancy rates of at least 85% from November to April, in part because of the development of air travel into Cancun.

Since travel restrictions were in place during the pandemic, the extra flights will aid in the Canadian market’s recovery. According to Almaguer Salazar, some hotels have already reported reservation rates over 80% for the approaching winter tourism season.
