Delivery of the Nichupté lagoon’s new vehicular bridge is expected in April 2024. The 8.8-kilometer-long bridge is being built to link the city and the Cancun Hotel Zone.

Hundreds of workers are working shifts around the clock to construct the bridge.

More than 7 billion pesos were allocated by the state and federal governments for this iconic project to change Cancun’s urban landscape.

Construction on the lagoon has also begun, according to Guido Mendiburu Solis, the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation Infrastructure (SICT) of Cancun, who reported this at the beginning of May.
