Quintana Roo taxi drivers to be part of Uber as UberGo

Taxi drivers in Quintana Roo will be added to Uber’s app as an UberGo alternative. Users of the Uber app will soon be able to choose between a private Uber driver and a public state taxi.

When using the app, users can choose between a private option and UberGo, which states in the description that it is a Quintana Roo cab.

Following an agreement with state government officials, taxi drivers in Quintana Roo were included to the rideshare app. The Uber app with cab driver integration is currently being tested.

With the inclusion of taxi drivers by the state, it is intended that tensions between taxi and Uber drivers will be resolved.

Users using the Uber app will be able to choose between a private Uber driver and an UberGo public cab.

The addition of taxi drivers, according to Agueda Esperilla, spokesman for Uber’s driving partners, will allow them to coexist more harmoniously. She claims that integrating state taxi drivers into the Uber app will allow them to provide service at Cancun International Airport, assuring fair competition.
