Spirit Airlines has announced that it will provide nonstop flights from two U.S. destinations to Tulum in March of 2024. The airline will be the first U.S.-based ULCC to offer service at the newly established Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport (TQO) in Tulum.

Starting from March 28, 2024, daily flights will be available from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Orlando (MCO), coinciding with the start of TQO’s international service.

According to John Kirby, the Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines, Tulum is becoming an increasingly popular choice for leisure travelers. The direct flights from Florida will make it more convenient than ever to visit Mexico’s captivating coastline, just in time for spring break.

Kirby further emphasized that Spirit Airlines has a longstanding history of serving Mexico, and the addition of Tulum’s new airport will facilitate easier access for their guests to enjoy the city’s beaches, history, and diverse range of unique experiences.

To commemorate the launch of the new Tulum service, Spirit Airlines is offering special introductory one-way fares from FLL and MCO to TQO. These fares are applicable for travel between April 10 and May 21, 2024.
