Xcaret Xailing  to service Playa del Carmen route

July 03, 2023

Starting in August, Xcaret Xailing will depart from a new dock. The theme park company will soon launch a Playa del Carmen–Cozumel route in addition to their current Isla Mujeres–Cancun route.

By the middle of August, according to Miguel Alonso Marrufo, director of Quintana Roo’s Integral Port Administration in Cozumel, Xcaret Xailig should be operating.

The former Barcos Caribe booth, which is already built among the other ferry options, will sell tickets for the ferry route from the island to the mainland. The booth’s renovation to adopt the Xcaret appearance has already started.

The trips will be made using the company’s two ships, the Xel-Há and the Xcaret. They are currently used to operate the Cancun-Isla Mujeres route.

The 650-passenger boats will be used to run the Playa del Carmen-Cozumel route and two smaller 350-person boats will be brought in to run the Cancun-Isla Mujeres run, though, as the larger boats are not filling to capacity.
