During the summer season of this 2023, the arrival of Mexican tourists increased by 15% compared to the same season of 2022.

According to Fiturca figures, by the end of the year the arrival of tourists will continue to increase, mainly the arrival of national tourists from the main cities such as Tijuana, Guadalajara, Monterrey and Mexico City.

“In the month of July, which is a very indicative month of what the summer can be, we grew almost 5% in the number of international visitors and 15% in the number of domestic tourists. We think that this trend will continue in the second half of the year, that is, we will continue to grow in the number of international visitors around 4-5%, expecting to reach 10% by the end of the year, this is in the case of international traffic. Domestic tourism continues to develop positively in some cities within Mexico.

Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA), Toluca International Airport and Mexico City International Airport are the air terminals with the highest percentage of occupancy of tourists arriving in Los Cabos, with 85%, figures higher than those of 2019.

Since Los Cabos is an emerging destination, demand increases throughout the year, forcing national airlines to expand their routes or look for new connections to other cities in the country.

Fiturca pointed out that this 2023 has been very transformative for the tourism industry, after the elimination of the Covid-19 restrictions, the arrival of both domestic and foreign visitors increased by 12% during the first half of the year, this compared to the same period of 2022; these figures place Los Cabos above other tourist destinations in Mexico and the world, concluded Rodrigo Esponda.
