Baja California Sur has the nation’s lowest unemployment rate

According to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography, Baja California Sur has the highest economic activity participation rate, at 68.7%.
In a similar vein, the state has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country at 2.8%, which translates to a total of 12,632 Sudcalifornians.
The National Employment Service was able to place 3,000 people in formal employment out of the state’s labor pool, which includes about 6,000 new openings, per data from the Ministry of Labor, Welfare and Social Development.
Baja California Sur outperforms other states such as Colima with 66.3%, Yucatan with 65.8%, Nayarit with 65.7%, and Quintana Roo with 64.3% in terms of the population that is economically engaged.
