On Monday, October 16th, a significant rescue operation was carried out near the renowned Cabo San Lucas Arch. A boat named “Hidra L” capsized, putting the lives of the eleven individuals on board at risk.

The distress signal was promptly received by the Los Cabos Search, Rescue and Maritime Surveillance Station (ENSAR), which swiftly responded to the situation. Within minutes, a specialized team was dispatched on a Defender type vessel to rescue the distressed individuals. Following the successful rescue, the victims were transported to the dock of the Second Naval Zone, where they received comprehensive medical attention. Fortunately, they were found to be in good health and were able to depart on their own accord.

While no specific details were provided regarding the cause of the incident, it is worth noting that the National Meteorological Service reported wind gusts of up to 29 km/h on that particular day. In light of this, the Municipal Coordination of ZOFEMAT Los Cabos advised beachgoers to exercise caution and adhere to the sea condition indicators displayed by the flag system.
