Celebrations at Loreto Bay National Park continue

The Loreto community has been working for more than 20 years on a project to protect and preserve the natural and cultural diversity of this region of the Sea of Cortez. This Wednesday, the park’s official declaration will mark its 27th anniversary.

There will be an official anniversary celebration as well as the awarding of the certificate adding the park to the International Union for the Conservation of Nature’s green list.

A children’s and youth rally on the boardwalk will kick off the celebration on Thursday, July 20, at 5:00 p.m. The meeting place for the youth category will be on the beach in front of the Oasis Hotel, and for the children’s category it will be in the palapa area next to the lighthouse.
