Fiturca’s budget to increase over 70 million pesos for 2023

Los Cabos is the main tourist destination and has the highest Lodging Tax income. The Los Cabos Tourism Trust (Fiturca) has the highest tourism promotion budget in the whole state, with 308.5 million pesos in 2022 and a 70-million-peso increase expected this year.

Fiturca’s director, Rodrigo Esponda Cascajares, explained that the lodging tax revenue is put to good use in promotional campaigns for the destination. Every peso that enters the trust is used with the approval of a Technical Committee comprised of businessmen and state officials.

In 2022, Fiturca will devote more than 60% of its resources to promoting Los Cabos in its main tourist market, the United States, attracting 3.4 million international tourists by air.

Fiturca detailed last year that the US market alone increased by 25%, so the trust needs to maintain the number of visitors coming from that country.
