Hurricane Lidia: Los Cabos Sports Facilities to Remain Closed

October 10, 2023

The Los Cabos Municipal Sports Institute is closing its sports facilities in San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas for the second day in a row, as ordered by the Municipal Civil Protection Council.

This measure is being taken to prevent incidents and ensure the safety of the community, as heavy rains and winds in excess of 50 kilometers per hour are expected due to the presence of Hurricane “Lidia” in the Pacific Ocean.

The head of Indem, Ricardo Manriquez Castillo, urged everyone to comply strictly with the communiqué so that the agency’s staff would not have to deny access to people who do not comply with the necessary safety measures in the face of the meteorological phenomenon.

In addition, due to the strong waves, surfers will not be able to enjoy recreational activities, as the beaches have also been temporarily closed. The placement of red and black flags confirms that access to the sea is prohibited and represents a considerable risk to the safety of each individual.

Therefore, it is essential that everyone follows the instructions of the various authorities to ensure everyone’s safety.
