Labor Day long weekend boosts hotel occupancy to 70% in Los Cabos

The month of May began with good expectations for the hotel industry. According to the Los Cabos Hotel Association, the destination experienced an average occupancy rate of 70% over the holiday weekend.

Lilzi Orci Fregoso, representative of the Los Cabos Hotel Association, pointed out that the long weekend brought in a significant number of national, local and especially international tourists.

Los Cabos was the third beach destination with the best hotel occupancy, surpassed only by Puerto Vallarta with 84% and Cancun with 82.1%.

Despite the fact that the first quarter of 2023 saw a 25% increase in tourist arrivals to Los Cabos compared to the same period in 2022, the hotel association expects the good numbers to continue during the month of May, estimating an average occupancy of 76%.

   During the month of May, we will continue with very good occupancy around 76-75%, we bring good numbers. The hotels are already preparing for the summer.

Figures presented by the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) of the Government of Mexico, estimate a national income for lodging of 8 thousand 398 million pesos; in addition to an average hotel occupancy in the country of 63.2%.
