Grupo Aeroportuario de la Ciudad de México (GACM) announced that the air terminals of Loreto, Baja California Sur, along with those of Ciudad del Carmen, in Campeche, Colima, Ciudad Obregón and Guaymas, in Sonora, and Matamoros, in Tamaulipas, will be integrated into its ranks, which means that they will be under the jurisdiction of the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar).

This measure is part of the National Development Plan of the current government, which has national security as one of its main objectives.

In this context, the Loreto Airport is expected to integrate national and international airport practices in terms of passenger and cargo security and regional connectivity of the airfields of the airport network.

The integration of the Loreto air terminal will be carried out in accordance with the sectorization agreement between GACM and Semar, which was issued on August 8 and entered into force on October 7.
