Los Cabos and La Paz airports to receive more flights this summer

This year, eight new air routes will open in Baja California Sur, with seven domestic and one international connection, according to the state’s Ministry of Tourism and Economy (Setue). Los Cabos and La Paz will be the primary destinations that these new routes will favor.

Maribel Collins Sánchez, secretary of Setue, emphasized the advantages of four new domestic routes for Los Cabos. These include the recently launched flight from Cancun as well as flights from Ciudad Juarez, Queretaro, and Mexicali, all of which operate twice weekly.

Additionally, a brand-new, three-times-weekly direct flight from Kansas to Los Cabos will be added. 13,156 additional seats will become available as a result of these new destinations.

With the addition of new flights, the capital city will also gain since Mazatlan and Chihuahua will be its new destinations. Additionally, a direct connection has been made with Loreto, allowing visitors to the north of the state to have a one-of-a-kind experience.

Eight new routes will add a total of 19,396 new seats to Baja California Sur, facilitating travel to the region for both domestic and foreign tourists.

Recent statistics from Mexico’s Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) show that more than 600,000 foreign visitors arrive at Los Cabos International Airport each year, placing it third among all air terminals in the nation. Los Cabos’ Tourism Trust (Fiturca) reports that in the first four months of 2023, passenger arrivals increased by 22% at the destination. Additionally, there are about 550 domestic and international flight operations each week.
