Los Cabos leads luxury tourism with record occupancy and exclusive rates
May 26, 2023
Los Cabos Hotel Association President, Lilzi OrcĂ Fregoso, announced that the destination experienced a 15% growth in the first month of 2023 compared to the same period last year. This increase marks a record month in the destination’s history and shows a remarkable resurgence of tourism in Los Cabos.
One of the reasons why Cabo San Lucas is experiencing higher occupancy than San Jose del Cabo is that most of the hotels are located in that area. In addition, this year has seen the record arrival of 40,000 spring breakers, which has resulted in a significant increase in occupancy during the month of March, exceeding 80%.
The Los Cabos Hotel Association also pointed out that the destination not only has one of the best occupancy rates in the country, but also the highest average nightly rate of any destination in Mexico, at approximately $570. This figure reflects the demand and exclusivity that Los Cabos offers its visitors, making it a luxury and high-end destination in the country.
