During the last long weekend of the year, hotel occupancy in Los Cabos reached 78% of its capacity, of which 58% were foreigners and 42% nationals, according to Lilzi Orcí Fregoso, executive president of the Los Cabos Hotel Association (AHLC).

Los Cabos, a tourist destination par excellence and preferred by a mostly foreign market, received during the long weekend for the Revolution Day, an increase of nationals that along the tourist corridor gathered to enjoy the paradisiacal sites that integrate both San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas.

The representative of the hotel sector in Los Cabos, Orcí Fregoso, added that:

“In this weekend the national flow did grow a little bit for obvious reasons, this long weekendis a celebration that we do in Mexico and that is why we had a good response from the nationals”.

The Los Cabos Hotel Association, which among its mission is to obtain and process information for the elaboration of statistics and studies, points out that the interest of national tourism in visiting Los Cabos has increased in the last few years.

Currently, Mexican visitors represent 30% of the total number of tourists visiting the destination, which compared to years ago, this market represented less than 10% of the total tourism arriving to the municipality.
