According to the president of Canirac, Paloma Araos Wilkes, the busiest areas for Christmas and New Year’s dinners are downtown Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo and El Medano beach.

“Everyone is doing their Christmas dinners and New Year’s Eve parties from downtown Cabo San Lucas, the Medano area, San Jose. We have something for every budget and taste, we expect hotel occupancy to be over 90%; which means a lot of people in the restaurants. Not only the hotels, but also the AIRBNBs and the different types of accommodation chosen by the tourists arriving in the destination”.

Although an exact figure has not been released for the projected economic revenue for the holiday season, restaurateurs are expecting reservations to exceed 90%. Canirac emphasizes that during the New Year’s celebrations, all restaurants and consumption centers are expected to be full, especially in the “El Medano” beach area, where events and theme parties will be held.

Restaurateurs express their optimism in expecting to close the year 2023 with a full recovery of their businesses, marking the end of three years of economic challenges during the pandemic, where sales did not exceed 60%. This positive forecast reflects the sector’s confidence in a solid economic recovery in the region.
