Gabriel Olvera Guevara, in charge of the Sea Turtle Protection Program for the Municipality of Los Cabos, announced the results of the sea turtle nesting and release season.

Biologist Olvera Guevara reported that, in general, this year has been an intense year for sea turtle nesting and release. In addition, various meteorological phenomena provided a warm environment for the incubation of sea turtle eggs.

According to the marine biologist, a total of 8,749 sea turtle nests with a total of 903,620 eggs were protected in the municipality of Los Cabos, of which 464,836 turtles were released along the coast of Los Cabos.

Another outstanding achievement is the growing participation of citizens and the volunteer corps of the Sea Turtle Protection Program, with 1,522 people participating and 302 people trained in sea turtle care and protection.
