Mexican Wine Festival to be hosted in Los Cabos
September 06, 2023
On October 7, Los Cabos will host the first Mexican Wine Festival, which will feature over 700 labels from Ensenada, Chihuahua, San Luis Potosi, San Miguel de Allende, Queretaro, Baja California Sur, Aguascalientes, Coahuila, and international labels.
The event will be held at a well-known hotel in Cabo San Lucas from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. as part of “Mexican Wine Day,” which was declared in January of this year in the Official Journal of the Federation (DOF) by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development because Mexico has enormous potential for the production of high-quality grapes.
This event has a charity purpose in that a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Los Cabos Rotary Club and its scholarship program, so making a good contribution to the community.
The festival joins the wine festivals hosted in Baja California Sur as a result of the international success of Mexican winemaking. In the last three years, it has averaged 500 medals per year in prestigious wine contests such as the “Session of Red and White Wines 2022,” when Mexico received 71 medals.
With over 500,000 employees, the wine business is the second largest employer in the Mexican agricultural sector.
