Visiting the Magic Town of Loreto will be easier thanks to new air connections with Guadalajara, which will boost national and international tourism.

For the time being, the flights will have 2 weekly frequencies, with a capacity of 189 passengers, with the hope that they will gradually have a greater reach.

The investment made for Baja California Sur satisfies many needs, in terms of economy, tourism and recreation, as well as health, culture and gastronomy in the region of Baja California Sur. This is what the Secretary of Tourism of the State, Maribel Collins, says:

This flight means access to a national market that is so important, because Jalisco and the surrounding states are a great tourist market. And now the trend is that they are looking for destinations like ours, like Loreto, La Paz, Los Cabos. Beach, nature, adventure. And also because Guadalajara is a strategic point of connection, where they go and concentrate large volumes of passengers, which allows us to attract more domestic and international tourism.

It is also important to mention that this new flight will bring about 15 thousand more tourists per year to Loreto. And it is estimated a great economic benefit. In addition, a greater demand for labor is expected, including business opportunities for the Southern California community, in addition to training for tourism service providers, says Collins:

Now, in the period from January to June of this year, the arrival of 44,000 passengers is registered; 23% more tourists than in the same period last year, of 2022. Expectations for this summer indicate that we will reach 72% occupancy in general, in our tourist destinations. A little more than 364 thousand tourists in the month of July, and an income of more than 90 million dollars.

Not only will Loreto benefit, but the entire state will benefit from the development of tourism. Undoubtedly, an increase in air connections with the different places of the Mexican Republic was necessary. And now, having a new route to one of the most strategic places, such as Guadalajara, is a reality to build a greater reach to tourists from different parts of the country and the world.

In addition, Baja California Sur is a point of interest nationally and internationally for the beauty and charm of its various attractive destinations, so the implementation of this type of actions will benefit the different sectors of the population of Baja California Sur that live and depend particularly on tourism.
