The National Off Road Racing Association (Norra) held its annual “Mexican 1000 Rally Norra” event in Baja California Sur, attracting more than 250 teams from around the world and generating an estimated $2 million in economic revenue for the region. In addition to providing a unique experience for racers, the race promotes tourism and exploration of the state’s rural areas and ranches.
The National Off Road Racing Association (Norra) is an off-road racing organization. In 1967, it organized the first “Mexican 1000 Rally Norra”, whose route goes from Ensenada, Baja California Sur, to the municipal capital of San José del Cabo.
According to estimates by the Baja California Sur Tourism and Economic Secretariat (SETUE), Norra will generate two million dollars (md) in economic revenue for the state, as more than 250 teams from the United States, Canada, Europe and South America will participate.
Donna Lauren Jeffries Álvarez, Director of Tourism of Los Cabos, pointed out that the Norra is a family event that attracts a little more than 3 thousand visitors who are part of the participating teams.
