Restaurant to have a full house on Christmas and New Year’s Eve

The restaurant industry reported that it will be 90% full this Christmas, making it one of the busiest holidays since the Covid-19 health alert went into effect. Christmas dinner reservations at eateries in the popular tourist destinations of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo are all but gone.

This weekend’s challenge is for customers to abide by the biosecurity procedures put in place by the Ministry of Health (SSA). Masks must be worn in all enclosed locations, including the kitchen and by waitstaff in restaurants.

For the time being, the hours until 2:00 a.m. and the 100% capacity will be respected so as not to affect the income of business owners. Esteban Domínguez explained that diners and restaurateurs must be responsible for complying with all indications in order to avoid a reoccurrence of active cases of Covid-19.

The Los Cabos Hotel Association pointed out that during the third week of December, from the 19th to the 25th, an occupancy rate of over 83% is expected, with an average rate of over US$460.
