The National Chamber of Restaurants and Seasoned Food Industry (CANIRAC) reported that all restaurants in the different Los Cabos tourist zones were between 90% and 100% full by the end of 2022.

Restaurant sales climbed by more than 90% between December 22, 2022, and January 6, 2023, according to Michel Zermeño, president of CANIRAC.

They anticipate that this year’s February through May will once again be the peak dining season.

The sanitary limitations this time were not as tight as they were in 2020 and 2021. Regarding this, Michel Zermeño clarified that the sole prohibition imposed over the recent Christmas holidays was wearing masks in enclosed areas.

One of the municipality’s most severely impacted economic sectors was the restaurant industry, which claimed losses of more than $100 million alone during the sanitary alert in 2020 and 2021.
