Tourists feel safe in Los Cabos: FITURCA survey
September 12, 2023
The perception of safety in the tourist location is maintained, according to satisfaction surveys done by the Los Cabos Tourism Trust (FITURCA).
According to the most recent data from the Los Cabos Tourism Observatory, sense of safety increased 0.6 percentage points from June 2022, when it decreased by 9.5 percentage points. Rodrigo Esponda Cascajares, director of FITURCA, stated that these findings are consistent with those of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).
“We have consistently been in the top five places in the last six years, which is correlated with the surveys that we conduct with the (tourists) that go out with the perception that INEGI has in this survey, which has remained stable, in positive numbers, and obviously a public-private effort continues to be made to continue implementing security measures and that visitors and the community’s perception is positive.”
According to the National Urban Public Safety Survey (ENSU) for the second quarter of 2023, 75% of the municipality’s people believe the tourist attraction is safe.
The sense of safety in Los Cabos has shifted throughout time. The impression of insecurity has decreased compared to the same period last year, which was 30.7. However, when compared to the first quarter of this year, the feeling of insecurity has increased slightly, rising from 22.7% to 25.2%.
