In order to reduce the number of traffic accidents on the Transpeninsular Highway, the Los Cabos authorities have announced that the speed limit will be reduced from 90 to 60 kilometers per hour.

This measure will be implemented in urban areas, specifically from Cerro Colorado to San José del Cabo and from the Punta Ballena bridge to El Bordo in Cabo San Lucas. These stretches have been identified as problematic in terms of traffic accidents.

Drivers will be fined if they do not comply with the new speed limits in the eight kilometers designated as an urban zone. This measure aims to improve road safety and prevent accidents in areas identified as particularly risky.

At present, the new speed limits in urban areas have already been installed, both on signs and on logarithmic strips on the road.
