The 1 millionth passenger of this year 2023 was awarded by the Administration of the National Port System (ASIPONA) of Puerto Vallarta. They came on the Carnival Panorama Cruise Ship. A mariachi band was present and some gifts were handed out.

Retired Vice Admiral Victor Uribe Arevalo, general director of ASIPONA in Puerto Vallarta, informed that the 1 millionth passenger is counted among arrivals of smaller vessels as well as international cruises.

It is worth mentioning that the 500 thousandth passenger of the smaller vessels was also awarded, this time it was a couple, Amir Tolentino and Fatima de Tolentino, who are originally from Zacatecas and are in the destination on their honeymoon.

Likewise, cruise ship passengers Rhonda Hendershort and Stacey Kempp were recognized, who said they were happy and surprised by the recognition given to them by ASIPONA. Both couples received gifts such as tequilas, dinners, as well as rebozos and free rides.
