2023 Puerto Vallarta International Film Festival announced

The twenty-third edition of the Puerto Vallarta International Film Festival 2023 (FICPV), organized by the Centro Universitario de la Costa, will be held from June 8 to 11, with a series of feature films and short films, as well as the presentation of the Golden Iguana, the highest award of this event, which will be received by the Mexican actress Arcelia Ramirez, as well as the renowned directors Glorimar Marrero-Sanchez and Lorena Padilla.

At a press conference, Anelí Martín del Campo Carrillo, general coordinator of the Puerto Vallarta International Film Festival, announced that the inaugural event will be the screening of the film “La Pecera” (2023) at the Centro Universitario de la Costa, where director Glorimar Marrero-Sánchez will be present.

There will also be a screening of “La Mujer de Benjamín” (1991) and a tribute to the actress Arcelia Ramírez.

“The International Film Festival announces in this edition with the collaboration of the University of Guadalajara, a gala in favor of the Cultural Center of La Biblioteca Los Mangos and the film will be Almamula (2023), which will be attended by its director Juan Sebastian Torales, likewise there will be the screening of the film “El Castillo” (2023), with the presence of its director Martin Benchimo.

The proceeds of the 400 tickets will be donated to the Los Mangos Library and, according to Yozozky Dinorah Cortés, president of the Cultural Center of this place, will be invested in the remodeling project of the exterior of this place.

As part of this event, the third exhibition of the “El Mar en Corto” competition will be held, a space where the talent of Vallarta has the opportunity to express their ideas in a creative way through the seventh art.
