On November 18th the first edition of the “Vallarta Crossing” took place, a competition that fulfilled the expectations of the organizers. It gathered 300 national and foreign swimmers in the event. The objective was to promote open water swimming and to be on its way to consolidate itself as a top-level sporting event.

There were two modalities, 3.1k, starting at Holli Beach and ending at the Malecon, and the 1.5k starting at the Malecon and returning to the naval museum, both competitions started minutes before 8:00 am.

It is worth mentioning that in the 3.1 kilometer route there was a category for the general public, and participants from 15 years old to 70 years old and over in both male and female categories.

All participants received a medal, and the first places in each category were awarded with some gifts from sponsors. It is intended that this competition will be held every year.
