New camera monitoring center for Bahia de Banderas
February 12, 2024
In Bahía de Banderas, plans are underway to establish a C2 camera monitoring center, focusing on installing cameras along the Riviera Nayarit boulevard and in the urban area. The Directorate of Citizen Security and Traffic aims to set up this center at the municipal academy of Valle Dorado. The project, currently in the planning and assessment phase, has an initial cost of 5 million pesos.
Mayor Mirtha Villalvazo Amaya highlighted a priority for the boulevard, addressing accidents and enhancing responsibility assignment. The initiative also involves a citizen urban shield, encouraging homes with surveillance cameras to register, ultimately aspiring to evolve into a C5. While specific crime reduction figures weren’t provided, the C2 is anticipated to deter offenses like business robbery and home burglary, contributing to enhanced security amid the municipality’s rapid growth.
In the past three decades, Command and Control Centers, commonly known as C2, C4, and C5 based on their infrastructure and operations, or Monitoring and Control Centers, have evolved into essential hubs for organizations dedicated to safeguarding and serving society. These centers play a crucial role in capturing information for operational, decision-making, and maintenance purposes in the realms of public safety, medical emergencies, civil protection, disasters, and psychological care for the population.
