According to Alejandro Torres Magñaa, director of the Association of Hotels and Motels of Puerto Vallarta, tourists from Mexico City and the Bajo made up the majority of visitors during this summer vacation season, which is why occupancy rates are over 80%.

The hotelier emphasized that Puerto Vallarta is having a great summer season and is one of the most popular vacation spots in the country. Because of this, occupancy rates are around 80%, though on weekends they rise to 100%, meaning that the hotels are completely full.

He even claimed that the city’s recent rains and the hurricane season didn’t lead to any cancellations of hotel reservations.

Fortunately, occupancy levels have been maintained in accordance with the reservations that have been made. In the meantime, the localized rains have not had an impact on our guests.

Additionally, he added that they have brigades and protocols ready in the event of a meteorological event to protect the safety of visitors and collaborators.

Finally, Torres Magaña emphasized that since there hasn’t been a low season like in previous years, there are excellent expectations for the remaining months of the year, with significant occupancies.
