Downtown Vallarta modestly decorated for Independence Day celebrations

By Tribune Travel

September 12, 2023

September is the patriotic month in which Mexico celebrates its independence. The holiday belongs to the Mexicans, although hundreds of foreigners attend to enjoy the activities. Despite this, ornamentation in the city center is limited.

Since last week, Municipal Government maintenance staff have been putting decorations along the Malecon and in the Plaza de Armas, principally papel picado and figures referencing national holidays.

For this Friday, September 15, the program includes Azucena Campos at 6:15 p.m., Martín Rodríguez “El Auténtico de Nayarit” at 6:45 p.m., Mia Studio 5:20 p.m., Komando MR 7:45 p.m., Grupo Zafiro 9:45 p.m., Mariachi Tierra Jalisciense 10:30 p.m., independence shout 11:00 p.m., pyrotechnics 11:30 p.m. and Grupo Farra at 00:15 a.m.
