Puerto Vallarta, Jal., February 22, 2026. — The Municipal Government of Puerto Vallarta announced the temporary suspension of garbage collection services in parts of the city following the events reported this Sunday.

According to the official statement, the Sunday night collection route in the tourist corridor — which typically services Centro Histórico, Emiliano Zapata, and Olas Altas — has been suspended. In addition, no garbage collection services will operate anywhere in the municipality on Monday, February 23.

Authorities are asking residents not to place trash bags on the street until further notice in order to prevent waste accumulation and help keep the city clean.

The City Council urged the public to stay informed through official municipal channels for updates regarding the resumption of services.

No specific date has been announced for when regular collection routes will resume.
