A press conference happened on Wednesday to announce the event. Vallarta Nayarit Gastronomica is on its thirteenth edition. Undoubtedly, it has established a milestone for the tourism industry. This year’s motto will be: Reactivating Economy

Consuelo Elipe, one of its co-founders, stated that for this edition, they were able to gather together more than 50 speakers. Outstanding is the presence of the best chef in the world in 2019, Daniel Soto-Innes.

Besides, there will be six guest states, including the hosts, Jalisco and Nayarit, but also Coahuila, Chihuahua, Tamaulipas, and Guanajuato. Spain will be the guest country, while El Paso, Texas will be the guest destination.

Businessmen from the tourism industry who support this event every year attended the press conference. Also present was as the Secretary of Tourism of Nayarit, Juan Enrique Suarez del Real Tostado. On his turn, he assured that they will continue to support this event. He even proposed a name change to Nayarit-Vallarta Gastronomic Nayarit.

On the other hand, Carlos Elizondo, the event’s co-founder, stated that more than 10,000 attendees came in 2019 with an economic revenue of more than 60 million pesos. Due to the pandemic, the event was restricted last year, with just 20% of participants able to join. They represented over 1,000 room nights, compared to more than 5,000 in 2019.

“This year, we will almost certainly exceed 2,500 room nights. Because there will be more operations and more integrated municipalities, such as San Sebastián del Oeste, the economic revenue will be roughly 30 to 35 million pesos”.

This event will bring together national and international chefs for a variety of workshops, banquets, and gourmet exchanges.
