Hospiten Joins Forces with “Casa Vallarta Abuelos” to Support Children in Puerto Vallarta
September 25, 2024
Hospiten Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – In a heartfelt initiative aimed at supporting underprivileged children, Hospiten has partnered with “Casa Vallarta Abuelos,” a non-profit organization with over 15 years of service to the local community. This collaboration focuses on a school backpack drive, providing much-needed resources to help children in Puerto Vallarta continue their education.
Casa Vallarta Abuelos, founded by Anne Marie Weiss-Armush, has been a registered U.S. charity since 1999. The organization is committed to assisting children from vulnerable backgrounds who dream of advancing their studies from kindergarten to high school. Their mission is to provide comprehensive support, including food, clothing, school supplies, medical care, and a safe educational space where children can take art, reading, and math classes. They also offer scholarships to deserving students, helping them reach their educational goals.
During a recent visit to Casa Vallarta Abuelos, the profound impact of their work was evident. Since its inception, the organization has supported over 2,000 children, offering not only material aid but also holistic care that is essential for their development. The current backpack drive addresses a critical need, as many students lack the basic supplies necessary to attend school fully prepared.
The partnership with Hospiten was facilitated through the “My Health” program, an initiative that connects the local and foreign communities of Puerto Vallarta with health and wellness resources. Volunteers from My Health, along with the founder of Casa Vallarta Abuelos, helped establish this important collaboration.
“My Health” is a comprehensive program that promotes the well-being of expatriates residing in Puerto Vallarta, many of whom consider the city their second home. The program focuses on elderly residents with chronic conditions, aiming to provide access to healthcare, education, and support. Through workshops, awareness campaigns, and partnerships with local organizations, My Health works to improve the quality of life for foreign residents by encouraging healthy habits and preventative care.
Manuel Parejo Bello, Director of Hospiten Puerto Vallarta, praised the collaboration as part of Hospiten’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. “This partnership with Casa Vallarta Abuelos is an extension of our commitment to the community, not only enhancing the well-being of the children and their families but also reinforcing Hospiten’s role as a key supporter of social development in the region,” he said.
Casa Vallarta Abuelos continues to play a crucial role in the local community. By providing backpacks and school supplies, the organization ensures that children can attend school with the proper tools they need to succeed. This collaboration offers a valuable opportunity to create a brighter future for the children of Puerto Vallarta, building a foundation for their success in both school and life.
