Puerto Vallarta maintains hotel occupancies above 80% during the week and is one of the preferred vacation destinations, especially for domestic tourism, according to Christian Preciado, director of Municipal Tourism, who also invited the city’s hotels and restaurants to decorate their establishments according to the national holidays.

The city official highlighted that there are hotels registering occupancies of up to 90% despite the fact that the holiday period is about to end, so the people who are coming to the city are from the Metropolitan Zone of Guadalajara, Aguascalientes, as well as from Mexico City.

“There is also a good flow of foreigners, but they are staying more in downtown hotels and even the administration of the International Airport of Puerto Vallarta has informed me that we have already exceeded 4 million passengers so we will be surpassing the record goal of 6 million 200 thousand tourists at the airport”.

On the other hand, he highlighted that in terms of tourist vessels the numbers are also favorable, for example, in this year 2023 they have increased by 15.3% from January to July compared to 2022. Regarding international cruise ships, 8 will be received this month, but 203 are expected throughout the year.
