The Director of Tourism and Economic Development, Christian Salvador Preciado Cázares, informed that Puerto Vallarta has an average occupancy of over 90%, although it increases on weekends due to the arrival of mostly domestic visitors.

The municipal official mentioned that Puerto Vallarta is one of the most popular destinations for summer vacations. According to hoteliers, they have reported very good occupancy rates, even up to 20 trucks arriving in one day with tourists from different cities in the country.

It is domestic tourism that predominates, he said, especially young people and families because they have already left on vacation, but there have also been several conventions in the city.

There are many hotels that have been converted to adult only and we have family hotels, these are practically having an occupancy between 90 and 95% occupancy and the adult only hotels have remained at 85 and 90%, this is due to the same demand from families, so this month we would be hovering around 90%, during the week the occupancy drops, but it is very good and favorable for Puerto Vallarta.

On the other hand, he commented that the Malecon is being cleaned and the rehabilitation of this will begin in the next few days due to the damage caused by the hurricanes. Likewise, the attention modules of the Municipal Tourism Board continue to be open to provide information to tourists, as well as legal assistance.
