Hotel occupancy in Vallarta is nearly 90%

According to data from the Directorate of Tourism and Economic Development, Puerto Vallarta had a hotel occupancy rate of nearly 90% last weekend, from January 6th to 8th, meaning that this destination is living a strong influx of visitors.
Puerto Vallarta led the hotel occupancy during the Christmas holiday period, even at the start of this year, at 100%, dropping to 85% on the following days, but rising to 90% from Friday the 6th to Sunday the 8th.
Similarly, the Beach Tourism Board announced that the destination closed the month of December at nearly 80%, exceeding figures from 2021, and that the trend would continue in January, February, March, and April.
It is worth noting that Jalisco reached 57% occupancy, with approximately 1.2 million visitors in the state’s main tourist destinations, from December 19, 2022 to January 1, 2023.
Christian Preciado Cázares, in charge of the Tourism Department, assured that this week it was noted that the reduction in hotel occupancy was not as severe as in previous years, indicating that tourists continue to visit the destination; additionally, cruise ships continue to arrive, and more than 1,200 flights are expected during the first two weeks of the month.
